Founded in 2010, the Spanish major has enrolled full-time undergraduates since 2011 and graduate students since 2017. Foreign language and literature is the key discipline of Hunan Province. This major has 9 full-time teachers (including 1 foreign teacher), 4 with doctoral degrees, including 2 graduate supervisors. In recent years, Spanish teachers have presided over one national project, a number of provincial and ministerial projects, published many high-level academic papers, and guided students to win dozens of awards in national and provincial competitions.

And professional talents with self-learning consciousness, innovation consciousness and critical spirit.
The program has signed "3+1" undergraduate training agreements with Spain's prestigious Autonomous University of Barcelona, University of Alcala, University of Salamanca and University of Santiago de Compostela, and the exchange rate of overseas exchanges over the past year has exceeded 47%. Over the years, the passing rate of students majoring in Spanish in colleges and universities is much higher than the national average. Outstanding achievements in various disciplines at all levels and in the past two years, three prizes were awarded in regional competitions and three prizes were awarded in provincial competitions. The total number of graduates in the past five years is 141, including 17 domestic students, 27 overseas students, and 97 employed. The graduation rate of graduates exceeded 40%, and the employment rate was 100% for many years in a row.
